Annmarie Solo is a soulful songstress who blends heart and soul with ethereal inflections and evocative lyrics. What makes her different from most artists is that she is able to convey an engaging sense of intimacy and compassion through her voice which feels authentic and grounded.

Annmarie’s debut album, the upcoming CD “Rising”, is a collaboration with producer Alfonso Rodenas who received a 2009 Grammy for Best Norteno Album “Raices” By Los Tigres Del Norte. This collection of songs is filled with hopeful, inspiring messages about humanity, love and evolution during these times of great change.
Annmarie recently recorded the title track ‘Summer Moon” for the soon to be released 2009 feature “Dark Moon Rising” and her song “I Lose Gravity” is featured in the Independent film “Take” starring Minnie Driver.

Annmarie considers herself a “Mountain Girl” who embraces nature and appreciates an elevated sierra ridge as much as an urban one. She feels most at home when she is nestled in the historically bohemian mountains of Topanga Canyon in Los Angeles where she currently resides.
Annmarie is originally from Detroit Michigan, where she started studying music at the age of 10. Her first instrument was the flute and she later picked up the guitar falling in love with the feeling of the strings vibrating against her voice. She grew up listening to everything from Tracy Chapman to Led Zeppelin.
In her teens, Annmarie began writing poetry, which led to writing lyrics that have helped shape her life. She traveled to India for a year to study yoga and sacred music while making stops in Nepal and Thailand. She was inspired to buy a harmonium and incorporates this traditional Indian instrument into some of her recordings and live shows.

Being profoundly affected by yoga and the magic of India’s abundant musical traditions, in 2008 Annmarie recorded a demo called Devotion, co-produced in Los Angeles with Jeffrey Andrews. Even as a “demo,” the songs on Devotion received unprecedented positive reactions from the press.
